Cancel checklist

Do these in order. Facility rules differ. Call the office if anything conflicts with their contract.

1. Find the move-out / notice rules (often 7–14 days before the next bill).
2. Empty the unit. Left items can keep the account open or trigger fees.
3. Cancel in writing (email or portal) and keep the confirmation.
4. Return any facility lock. Photograph the empty unit if they ask.
5. After they confirm closed, cancel auto-pay and destroy the access card.
6. Watch one more statement cycle for a leftover “final month” charge.
